This paper investigates infinite-horizon mean field games in which the single-player dynamics are governed by a discrete-time Markov chain with a finite state space. It is assumed that both the transition probabilities and the payoff of a representative player depend on the current state, the control chosen by the representative player, and the overall distribution of all players. The main result of this study is the reduction of such a mean field game to a finite-dimensional variational inequality. A toy model is considered to illustrate the general theoretical result.
